Lost in Mar del Plata : Video
As a result of the 2011 Exchange Program at Nortthern Hills , the students and Carolina Graff put together this fun video to share their skills in Spanish and the Argentina Culture!
This is the story of Nick, an American tourist who gets lost in Mar del Plata trying to find a friend´s home the day before going back to his country. He knocks at a door, where he finds a group of soccer fans watching a game and they invite him to join them. Then, he tries next door and he finds an old lady who offers him something to eat and introduces his two daughters to him, since she thinks it´s time for them to get a boyfriend. Finally, in the next house, he meets a young girl whose boyfriend has just left her. She shows him how to dance tango and they go together to a “Milonga” ( a Tango club). At the end of the day, his friend contacts him at last, upset because they couldn´t meet. Then Nick informs him that his plans have changed and he has decided to stay in Mar del Plata , because he´s getting married in a week.

We will have Spanish clases to practice the language while we learn about tango,
soccer, history and other topics related to Argentina. You will also take part
in a number of activities aimed at letting you experience the Argentine culture.
Don´t forget your cameras because there will be visits to beautiful places in
our city and get ready to enjoy some delicious traditional foods, since
we are having a couple of cooking sessions. You will also attend some
regular classes with Northern Hills students and take tango lessons.
